I really like my ooma system especially since it is saving me $50 a month phone bill. It works well and I haven't had any trouble out of it. I would suggest going online to ooma.com to check and see if they have a number in your area. They didn't have any in my area when I signed up so I had 2 choices either port my number or get a number in my area code but would have been long distance for my mother-in-law to call from next door. While having a reason for my mother-in-law to call less often might not seem like a bad idea it is still inconvenient to have a long distance number.I chose to port my number which is 39.99 but I never got around to sending in the paper work. So, about two months after I bought it I decided to check and they actually had a number in my area. The ooma customer service was really great and they signed me up for the new number free of charge and cancelled my request to port my number. I have seen complaints that it takes a long time to get through to customer service but I had no trouble I had to hold for only about 5 minutes.
