Low Price ooma Core VoIP Phone System with No Monthly Phone Service Bills

I bought ooma system a couple of months ago.

So far it works well, but they advertise that you can keep your current phone number (number porting), but apparently they don't offer this service in my area. I did not read about this possibility on their website. This was after having to go through ATT to dissociate my DSL from my home number. Now I have to change my phone number (credit cards, banks, work, relatives, etc.) or keep my landline and continue paying landline bills. My main reason for switching to the ooma system was to save monthy landline bills.

Also, I wonder how well funded the company really is. I have tried calling customer service twice and waited on hold for at least 10 minutes each time.
