I bought Ooma from Amazon recently. Installation was a snap. My setup is
on a Comcast cable internet. Ooma base plugs in between the cable modem and the router (wireless in my case) and is tucked away out of sight. Ooma base needs to be connected to a wall phone jack so that it can power all the phone outlets in the house. In my case, besides the jack the Ooma base is connected to, I need only one more active wall outlet which is where the scout is connected to. Then my multi-handset VTech phone is connected to the scout and voila, I have Ooma service from the entire house from all the handsets.
I have disabled the built-in answering machine on my VTech phone system base unit so that Ooma voicemail kicks in. After a simple configuration in the Ooma website (what they call as lounge), a voicemail left by a caller comes in as an email attachment. Very convenient. Now I can listen to my voicemails from anywhere in the world.
I am transferring my phone number to Ooma so that I can ditch my Ma Bell's landline altogether. All-in-all, I am very happy in the two weeks I have been using Ooma.Get more detail about ooma Core VoIP Phone System with No Monthly Phone Service Bills.
