this is a quite remarkable product. I have had it about 6 months now and am very impressed. i started off by using it along with my local phone service for about 6 weeks until i got comfortable with the reliably and tweaked settings to improve call quality. i have since disconnected my local service and only use Ooma for my phone.

let me start by saying there are MANY variables that are factors about whether you are going to get good quality calls, only some of which Ooma has control over. for example, who you have as your internet vendor, your internet speed (up and down), latency, household wiring, jacks, cables, your network, network configuration, types of phones you use, etc. if you doubt this, go to the Ooma support website and read about all of the things people are discussing.

with that being said, many people can probably pull it out of the box and be thrilled from day one. on the other hand, there is a decent chance a new user have to get a little more hands-on with the technology than just plugging it into the wall.

i do however feel very, very, very confident that that vast majority of people will be thrilled with this product "IF" their expectations and understandings are that success depends on a lot of factors.

EVERYONE should try this product, but PLEASE, if it doesn't work right out of the box, go to the Ooma forums and spend a little time reading/asking questions and most everyone can enjoy very affordable, high-quality phone calls. i have found the support forums on their website to be the most informative and people are usually quick to offer assistance whenever you need it.
