I used to refer to Amazon reviews before buying stuffs. After seeing (No, I did not waste my time reading) so many GREAT reviews on this expensive toy, I think I will think twice when I read reviews from Amazon.

I can't hold my laugh when I saw people kept on saying "No monthly bills!", "No monthly fees" ans such. Previously, I was with Verizon with our family's OLD phone number. Then I switched and stayed with Vonage for a year. I heard about Ooma and was skeptical because I'd like to know the catch.

My decision was based on home phone usage + internet subscription. Since we pay for more than $50 internet and we only use our phone for our voicemail, why pay more???

I being realistic here. All my family and friends can call my cell phone if they want me. Our OLd home phone number is for telemarketers, some friends and old folks. So I decided to transfer my phone number to Ooma.

Its been 8 months and its WORTH IT!!! I still have my old phone number, I can use our equipment to retrieve voicemail and I can make phone calls IF I feel lazy to pick up my cell.

Ooma's voice quality is good. I'd say it also depends on your internet juice or bandwidth. I can make decent phone calls, meaning I can hear the person very well. BUT I'm too lazy to hold the phone so I opt to transferring them to my cellphone because of my wireless bluetooth.

Ooma works for me! hehehe no bills for more than 8 months now. Well, who cares to count the bills when you're not receiving anything.

My fave feature -- retain OLD phone number.

Bye bye Vonage and Verizon. Thank you Ooma and Skype (free online).

I am so happy with this product--it was confusing to my family while I ported my phone number. The most difficult part was getting at&t to transfer my number and just to leave a dsl number with them. Ooma works great and I feel that I am completely happy with product. Support was great in beginning when porting was happening. I set it up myself!! I am buying another for my son for fathers day!! I smile evry month when the only bill I receive is my dsl bill from at&t --for $36 month. I was paying over $90.. I still have not learned to fax with it..that is my next project-I would reccommend it to anyone who uses long distance and local calls. The sound is clear and it is easy to play messages back. Had it for two months now. Seems like everything works fine. Domestic call audio quality is pretty good. International, i.e. other side of pacific ocean, the audio quality as well as call setup timing are good too.

I've had my ooma for about two months. This is a great product. I'm no tech geek, but set-up was easy - less than 15 minutes to get up and running. I notice no difference in call quality between my land line (which is now disconnected - woo hoo!) and the ooma line.

Using the ooma lounge to listen to voice mail and check call logs are nice extra features.

My payoff period is less than 10 months. After that it's all gravy.

The people at Qwest were totally clueless about this product. I gave the gal the ooma website address and told her to look for a new job (I didn't really tell her that, but I wanted to).

1) It's got better sound quality than the Vonage that I currently use and close to the quality of a landline.
2)Very easy to install. Took me no more than 20 minutes to get going and start using it.
3)Have good features included that traditional phone carriers would charge as options.

5) Option to get a 2nd line by joining OOMA premier for $99/year.
