ooma Core VoIP Phone System with No Monthly Phone Service Bills

I've had nothing but problems with Ooma. The promises sound too good to be true, and so they are. The first week I got it their service went out for everyone. They don't support UPnP where your programs open ports for port forwarding and such for things like automatic backup programs, etc. Sending faxes do not work so cannot use for a business or fax line. I always get a line error. I set the QOS in their setup screen [...] to be 20% less than the maximum measured speed as recommended, but still people complained about me breaking up. They also inexplicably said in their lounge setup that multi-ring w/land line setup does not work, but it does.

I so wanted this to work, because Vonage has such poor customer service and I'm tired of the monthly surprises. Vonage works however, supports multi-ring of FIVE phones (as opposed to one), has TWO phone ports (in case of business line, as opposed to one), and you can adjust audio bandwidth from 30kbps to 90kbps, as opposed to 384kbps from Ooma. At least Ooma support staff speaks English.

-- I did finally get one fax to go through. I still had multi-ring setup with Vonage so that is why it was working. All complaints about breaking up were for outgoing calls, so it was all Ooma at that point. Returned product. Not recommended.
