The value proposition of Ooma, is undeniably, irresistible. Even for Vonage users like myself.

1. I have both Ooma & Vonage, and I am sorry to say that in all of the tests I have run, in continued use over 2 months or so, the voice quality & reliability of the calls Ooma invariably falls short of Vonage. I do not know how they tested the voice quality for the Vonage vs. Ooma comparison on the Ooma web site. Nor do I know what may have provided better results for other users as reported in these Amazon reviews. My tests indicate just the opposite. Vonage is simply superior. (I do not work for, nor am I in any way affiliated with Vonage, other than being a customer for several years.)

2. Installation of the Scout was not possible for me. I sold the Scout immediately. Much more detailed install instructions are required for this accessory. In particular, installation using existing home telephone wiring, which is how most people would want to use a Scout in order to have telephone service in parts of the house far away from wherever your internet service provider cable is located.

3. Telephone technical support is unacceptable. For such an elegantly designed piece of equipment, and a company making the marketing claims Ooma makes one expects more. It's as simple as that. No one wants to purchase and use products that are difficult to install or use. Ooma has all of your typical tech support problems, long time to respond, technicians who do know know or understand the problem, delays in returning calls, etc. etc.

4. Now my Ooma Hub appears to be failing (flashing red lights) even after disconnecting power & ethernet cables to it several times, and several successful start ups with it. The rest of my connections are good, but Ooma Hub is flashing red.
