I think many of the reviews before this cover quite a bit of detail, so I'm not going to rehash features and all. But, I definitely wanted to confirm that my experience with the voice quality is superb on the Ooma. Hookup was very easy and I was making calls in minutes.

I hooked up my Ooma a little differently than how the manual indicates. First, I wanted to make sure that I was happy with Ooma before porting my phone number over. So, at sign up I just had Ooma assign me a brand new phone number. Then, on my Comcast digital voice line, I forwarded every call to this new Ooma number. Incoming caller ID works just like the person was directly calling your Ooma. The only small downside is that outgoing calls reflect your new Ooma number. Once satisfied that Ooma would fit my needs I asked Ooma to port my old number to the Ooma.

Second, to make the initial install easy, I hooked the "phone" jack into my wall from the main hub. This made every phone jack in the house work from the hub without any need for a scout. I will likely change this setup in order to take advantage of some of the additional features afforded by the Scout, but it does work well. In fact, this allowed me to hook up an old Panasonic Showstopper to the hub so that it could dial out for program info each night.
