ooma Core VoIP Phone System with No Monthly Phone Service Bills This instant

Our VOIP provider (of 3+ years) Verizon Voicewing discontinued its service recently and we needed new service. The Ooma device sounded promising so we bought it. Unfortunately we were unable to get it to reliably make outgoing calls. We have a cable broadband connection. We returned the Ooma device and signed up with Vonage instead. I called customer service twice and, although I had to wait about 20 minutes to get someone on the phone, the reps knew the product well and were able to help me troubleshoot it. Three features I missed with Ooma were (1)the stutter dialtone to indicate a new voicemail message, (2)e-mail or text-message notification of new voicemail messages (available with Ooma Premier), and (3)automatic billing for international calling. For the cost of Ooma it is definitely worth a try.
