Let's face it. Now that I own a cell phone, my home phone number is actually just an answering device for businesses, telemarketers, and people I don't really want to talk to. Why pay money for this?

Installing the OOMA hub on my DSL was easy easy easy. I did not bother with the scout because I have wireless handsets. Maybe someday I will unpack the scout and play with it.

I called my parents long distance. We decided that the sound quality is very clear on both ends.

I called QWEST and cancelled my phone bill. I told them why. They cried a little. I told them I would keep DSL. They cheered up a tiny bit.

I called up everyone I know and gave out my new phone number and told them why. They are all impressed and are considering buying an OOMA. They want to be cool and save thousands of dollars over the life of the OOMA like me. I am awesome.

I have had the OOMA a month now. I grin every time I look at the OOMA. It looks like a simple answering machine but I know it is actually the sweetest device I own.

Now that the free introductory trial period has expired, I can no longer "pre-screen" my calls. The phone rings, followed by silence from the speaker.
