Purchase ooma Core VoIP Phone System with No Monthly Phone Service Bills

Like many people that I know I use my cell phone much more often than I do my home phone, so much so that I discontinued my land line service and use my cell phone only. However, there are many reasons one would want a home phone and cell service can be spotty in some location.

Enter the Ooma. Since I have internet service a VoIP system made sense, the question is, which one should one try. I am leery of monthly charges, even moderate ones. What starts out looking reasonable can grow out of control with addtional charges, optional services, rate increases, etc. I only have to look at my monthly bill for my cable service to be reminded of this. I was atracted to the Ooma largly based on the "pay for it one time" strategy. I wish that I could do the same thing for my satelite radio service. One does not need a degree in accounting to figure out how much the Ooma can save you over a couple of years vs. conventional phone charges.

As far as the technical part goes, I am blown away with the quality of the calls! Maybe because I am so used to using a cell, but I love being able to hear people clearly.
