I just got my Ooma order a couple days ago Jan '09. It is pretty easy to hook up. I have cable internet. The sound quality is really good. The sound quality is really good. When I hooked it up, I cancelled my landline the next day. I was paying $25/mo. with ATT, so in 9 months this unit will pay for itself. If the power goes out you can put a backup power supply on it and your internet connection. I don't have that now though. You can send faxes over it; I haven't tried that yet though. Caller ID is a standard feature that is free, which is cool. Long distance calls are free. I got a phone number local to my area. It's reliable. I recommend the Ooma very highly.
